‘Christian Nation’ Billboard: Down

After protests by the mayor of Dallas, the Dallas Moaning News, and a bunch of atheists, a billboard reading “America is a Christian Nation” has been taken down (https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/jun/18/america-christian-nation-billboard-removed-dallas/).

Because, you see, the message is “divisive” and “exclusionary” and “a myth.”

If America is not a Christian nation, that’s a tragedy.

American Christians once upon a time created a nation, then unique in the world, allowing the free exercise of religion–any religion. The First Amendment guaranteed it. It goes to show you should never expect gratitude.

The billboard was paid for by the First Baptist Church in Dallas. Now atheists plan to gather in front of the church and hold a protest. Just in case anybody comes out whistling a hymn or something.

Remember that Democrat slogan from 2016? “The government is the only thing we all belong to.” They meant it literally. That’s their religion: the state is their god.

O Lord our God, when you judge this nation, please remember that these things are done without our consent, against our will, and over our objections. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

‘Winsome? We’re Supposed to be Winsome?’ (2015)

Some Christians are always advising the rest of us to be “winsome” as we try to save our civilization from being melted down and turned into slag by leftids. I dunno, maybe it’s just sour grapes on my part: when I try to be winsome, the effect is invariably grotesque.

One of the reasons why I’m a Christian instead of an atheist is that I can see with my own eyes how “post-Christian culture” is melting down the world I live in. Much if this demolition is performed by government, when it’s controlled by liberals.

I was wrong about the Supreme Court–for once–and I’m loving it.

The court ruled today that the Colorado Civil Rights (LOL) Commission was wrong in ordering a Christian baker to create a cake for a “gay wedding,” for mocking his religious beliefs and showing overt “hostility” in demanding that he use “his artistic skills to make an expressive statement” in favor of a practice abhorrent to his religious creed (https://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2018/06/04/scotus-rules-bakers-opposed-to-gay-marriage-cant-be-forced-to-bake-cakes-n2487137).

In 2012 a couple of “gays” targeted Masterpiece Cakeshop, knowing the Christian baker would not create a special cake for them, even though he was willing to sell them anything in the shop that was already  made. And the state of Colorado went along with them, destroying the baker’s business, exposing him to death threats by the Loving Left, and making him put his life on hold for six years.

The court voted 7-2 for the baker.

I’m relieved. For the time being, they won’t come knocking at my door to order me to include “positive gay characters” in my books or else not be allowed to write them.

Upon closer reading, it seems the court tried to narrow its focus to this particular case and no others–in effect kicking the can down the road. Those other cases are still out there. But compared to the damage the court could have done, which two of its nine members wanted to do, yes, I think we have something to be thankful for.

The court made much of “neutrality” toward religious belief. Even to consider ordering a Christian to take a stand in favor of, well, an abomination suggests that neutrality was never on the table.

It used to be the law told you what you couldn’t do, and as long as you didn’t do it, you were left alone. The Left aspires to make law that tells you what you must do, must say, must believe–or else.

They’re the ones in the theocracy business, not us.

Your School Tax Dollars at Work, Again

Our is the biggest and costliest public education system in world history–and what are we getting for it?

At Mountain Ridge Middle School in Gerrardstown, West Virginia, some parents are a bit cheesed off that their non-Muslim children are being taught to write an Islamic “declaration of faith” (http://barenakedislam.com/2018/05/17/west-virginia-parental-outrage-after-non-muslim-junior-high-school-students-were-forced-to-write-a-declaration-of-faith-to-the-religion-of-islam/). Doesn’t seem quite the ticket, does it?

First the school officials said the purpose of the exercise was to “practice writing the Islamic declaration of faith in Arabic calligraphy.” I didn’t know Muslims had to declare faith in Arabic calligraphy. Then the school said it was optional. We are at liberty not to believe this.

Meanwhile, in the “world religions” portion of Social Studies (feh!), Christianity and Judaism are notably downplayed, while Islam gets the lion’s share of ink and classroom time.

For some bizarre and probably lunatic reason, Western liberals are head-over-heels in love with Islam. They believe they can have lots and lots of Islam in their culture and still enjoy feminism, “gay rights,” and transgender bathrooms. Anyone can look at Iran and say, “Uh-uh, that ain’t gonna happen.” But apparently liberals–and most of our education hotshots are liberals–can’t see it.

And if Islam will be rough on “erotic minorities,” that’s nothing to how rough it’ll be on our sacred cow of Science.

Stupid leftids. They have no idea what they’re asking for. God help them if they get it.

Chomsky: Christians Want to ‘Destroy the World’

St. Olaf, the patron saint of Norway, was martyred in battle. St. Olaf’s College, in Minnesota, continues to martyr him to this day.

The latest outrage: antediluvian leftid Noam Chomsky, a few days ago, gave a lecture there in which he accused “Republicans and Christians” of wanting “to destroy the world.” (https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=10875)

Yo, Paul, what you wanna do today? Yo, Peter–how about we destroy the world?

What bunk.

“On the basis of Christian ideals they’re saying let’s proceed to destroy the world,” prattled Chomsky. Was that from Jesus’ famous sermon on “Let’s Destroy the World”? Maybe Chomsky has a special Bible. Christians and Republicans, he blathered to an adoring audience of college nincompoops, have “a unique insanity which is dedicated to destroying organized human life.” Yeah, hey, let’s destroy organized human life.

How we gonna do that?

Mostly by not believing in Global Warming and Climbit Change, by using cars and electricity when those amenities ought to be reserved to our betters and not allowed to us peasants, and by not giving the government fantastic powers to control our lives and stifle all dissent.

Too bad St. Olaf himself couldn’t be there to hear this old poop. But I don’t think he would have appreciated the irony. He died trying to Christianize Norway. The college named for him wants to de-Christianize America.

Gee, what will our religion be then?

It will still be Christianity: because, in the end, the bad guys lose.

‘Heavenly Bodies,’ eh? Really?

What do you get when you pack together celebrities, tons of money that none of them know how to spend, and a lot of paparazzi?

You get the 2018 Metropolitan Museum of Art gala fundraiser (https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/05/07/holy-haute-couture-divine-designs-grace-red-carpet-at-met-gala/)–this edition dubbed “Heavenly Bodies” to clue us in that it’s “religiously” themed, featuring “divine designs.”

Excuse me for a moment. Barf bag please.

In addition to a whole raft of celebs I never heard of, they had Kate Perry as an angel, Rihanna as a pope, along with Uma Thurman, J-Lo, and the multi-talented Kim Kardashian, all togged up with expensive bling in the form of crosses and other Christian symbols. We used to call this “blasphemy.” You know: showing profound disrespect for God by showing disrespect for holy things. Not that any of them are, in themselves, holy: but to use them like this is not gonna look good on Judgment Day.

I don’t know about you, but the photos generated by this wing-ding reminded me of Hieronymus Bosch’s paintings.

You’d think folks at an art museum might have picked up on that. But I think that as the money comes in, the brain goes out.

No, Please, Not That! ‘Beyonce Mass’

I wonder what Paul would have said about the recent “Beyonce Mass” at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, where 900 people showed up to attend mass with a liturgy “using the music and social philosophy” of that noted sage and pop star and “female-centric interpretations of the Bible,” blah-blah (https://www.sfchronicle.com/news/article/Grace-Cathedral-s-Beyonce-Mass-draws-faithful-12865544.php).

The, er, “church” is proud of its “contemporary culture-themed ministry.” Is this, like, the worst idea that anybody ever had? To conform your church to this world, the untended dumpster of 2018’s pop culture? Yeah, well, it’s one way of fighting “heterosexual aggression,” they say.

Leftids have no concept of the holy, unless you want to think of politics and fomenting culture rot as holy. Imagine needing Jesus Christ and having to settle for Beyonce. If you can think of anything worse than that, don’t let me know.

Liberals always say conservatives mix their religion with their politics and can’t tell the two apart anymore. As is the case 100% of the time, this is projection. You can’t go into a liberal church and find anything transcendent. Only abortion, feminism, race-obsession, far-left politics, and all the rest of the junk and debris of this benighted age. They do what they accuse “the Christian Right” (whoever that may be) of doing; and they do it all the time. They can’t not do it.

They have no king but Caesar.
