How Crazy Can California Get?

Are we in California?

The California state legislature is considering a bill to ban all books and speech “that violate LGBT priorities” (https://leeduigon.com/2015/07/11/abomination-video/). In fact, the bill has already sailed through two committees.

What do they mean? Well, writing or saying anything that could be construed as trying to encourage “sexual orientations change efforts”–like, for instance, quoting a Bible verse on repenting from sexual sin, or teaching your children that there are only two “genders” and all the rest is political poppycock. The bill makes it a crime to say or write such things–a crime to be punished by imprisonment. It would also allow the state to close churches, or even ban the Bible.

That the measure would be blatantly, flagrantly, boisterously, overpoweringly, and laughably unconstitutional seems to bother nobody in the California legislature. So it won’t survive a court challenge, unless the whole country’s gone as mad as California; but it’ll destroy some lives before it gets struck down.

Meanwhile, it does tell us, in no uncertain terms, where the Democrat Party is coming from and why it must never, never, ever again be permitted to take power over our country. Not ever.

Let’s see what the chip-on-the-shoulder industry, aka our nation’s universities, has added to the menu now.

George Washington University–if Washington were alive today, he’d be leading an army against these people–will be hosting a 90-minute “training session” to combat “Christian privilege” and all the “unmerited perks” enjoyed by Christians in America (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/04/03/prestigious-university-hosting-student-training-seminar-on-how-to-combat-christian-privilege-in-america.html).

The “seminar” will be led by the looniversity’s LBGTQIA–they keep adding letters to it–resources director, and among other crapola, will focus on “LGBTQIA diversity and inclusion.” It is a project of the school’s Multicultural Student Services Center.

Obviously GWU has way too much money. Way too much.

Oh–they also say the problem is “white people.” But then it’s always white people. No racial animosity here, folks.

And you send your sons and daughters to these institutions because _________? Go ahead, fill in the blank. While you’re at it, see if you can spot the hate-mongers.

If anyone comes out of college sane, it’s got to be a systemic failure.

It used to be that tyrants were content to tell you what you couldn’t say. But that’s not enough for them anymore. Now they want to tell you what you must say.

In Canada, if you’re a student who wants in on the Canada Summer Jobs grant program–you’re not gonna believe this–you have to declare your support for abortion as being part of your “core mandate” (http://ottawacitizen.com/news/politics/a-churchs-core-mandate-must-be-pro-choice-to-access-summer-jobs-grant-employment-minister-says/wcm/1a270a5e-1bc6-42cd-8883-2c5f938f9c4f). If you or your church does not support abortion, then you can’t get a grant.

A lawsuit has already been filed.

Some 70,000 students are expected to receive grants–but only if they’re all aboard for abortion. If you don’t check the abortion box on the application, get lost!

Canada’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau, laughs off the controversy as a “kerfuffle.” I mean, really, why shouldn’t you have to say you support abortion, if you want to work this summer?

And don’t be too surprised if they expand this to cover “gay marriage,” too.

Five hundred years ago, the Japanese government required Dutch traders to trample on the cross before they could do business in that country.

Now Canada does the same.

The New Killer! ‘Religious Trauma Syndrome’

Well, thanks to Science, we now know why so many people are so messed up. It’s because they have Religious Trauma Syndrome (https://valerietarico.com/2013/03/26/religious-trauma-syndrome-is-it-real/).

The term was coined two years ago by Dr. Marlene Winell, and it’s starting to catch on. It has to do with “toxic religion” and “harmful experiences within religion,” which supposedly scar you for life and lead to all sorts of self-destructive behaviors.

But what is “toxic religion”? Winell says it’s religion that’s “controlling” and insists on conformity. But that could apply equally to–well, to going to college, these days. See what happens to you in a college classroom if you buck the party line.

I think we all know what perverted religion would look like, and would agree that it does harm. But Dr. Winell warns of “toxic teachings like eternal damnation and original sin.”

She cannot distinguish between genuine “toxic religion” and mainstream Biblical teaching.

Ah, but there’s a cure–atheism! Or at least conversion to some kind of waffy-daffy “spirituality” that tells you that you’re good, you’re the cat’s pajamas, whatever you believe is true, everybody goes to Heaven, light a scented candle and you’re home free, blah-blah-blah.

I mean, really, doc! Non-religious people don’t have these same problems?

Bottom line: it’s just another secularist stab at building a morality-free society with themselves sitting on top of it.

C.S. Lewis’ Last Interview

I stumbled upon this article today and thought it would be good to share with you. It’s the last interview given by C.S. Lewis before he died, written by Sherwood Eliot Wirt for Decision Magazine, 1963 (http://www.cbn.com/special/Narnia/articles/ans_LewisLastInterviewA.aspx).

This is the quote by Lewis that jumped out at me.

“A great deal of what is being published by writers in the religious tradition is a scandal and is actually turning people away from the church. The liberal writers who are continually accommodating and whittling down the truth of the Gospel are responsible. I cannot understand how a man can appear in print claiming to disbelieve everything that he presupposes when he puts on the surplice. I feel it is a form of prostitution.”

He should see it now, fifty-plus years later.

Because our civilization has not yet forgotten how to preserve important things–liberals are working hard to erase them!–Lewis can still speak to us. His comments still have weight, and can still enlighten us. We can be in fellowship with him, as servants in the household of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
