We watch a lot of British comedies, mostly from the 1980s and 90s. And I can’t name a Britcom that didn’t take pot shots at Margaret Thatcher. She was prime minister for 21 years, 1979-90: but to hear the TV writers tell it, no one voted for her, no one liked her, no one had any respect for her–

Wait a minute!

Today in America, to hear our media tell it, no one voted for Donald Trump except for a tiny handful of white supremacists, no one likes him, no one has any respect for him, he’s universally despised and loathed…

Do they really believe that?

Maybe liberals have gotten so accustomed to winning by force that they’ve forgotten how to argue or persuade. Your newsroom has an editor who’s a Republican? Fire him! There’s a conservative in your faculty lounge? Just chase him out!

One night on the phone, some years ago, I was telling a liberal about a certain sex education textbook. He insisted the book did not exist. “But I have it right here on the table, in front of me,” I said. But it didn’t budge him.

As Joe Biden said, “We choose truth over facts!” That’s for sure. They ought to save it to put on his tombstone.

I wonder now: Are there a lot of details in a liberal’s mental landscape that simply aren’t there in real life? That would explain both their ideology and their behavior. Really–how could you possibly swallow the Green New Deal unless you were delusional?

Yeahbut, yeahbut, yeahbut! What about all that stuff we learned in college???

Archbishop Vigano: He Gets It

Archbishop Viganò's powerful letter to President Trump: Eternal ...

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, formerly the papal ambassador to the United States, has written an open letter to President Trump (https://edwardpentin.co.uk/archbishop-vigano-writes-open-letter-to-president-trump-full-text/). It makes for very worthwhile reading.

The archbishop wrote of the “spiritual battle” between good and evil and how, in America, somehow good is “held hostage by the wicked.” He identifies the worldly forces of evil–which are subordinated to Satan–with the deep state and globalism and has some interesting remarks about the “colossal operation of social engineering” called forth by the COVID-19 panic.

He concludes: “United against the Invisible Enemy of all humanity, I bless you and the First Lady, the beloved American nation, and all men and women of good will.”

Here is a priest who’s down here in the trenches with us, and we are grateful for his company. I don’t want to put words in his mouth, so click the link and read the letter.

Good News? Dare We Hope?

Black Lives Matter thugs recently invited themselves into a “gentrified” neighborhood in Seattle and demanded that white people give up their homes. We have not heard of any residents agreeing to this.

Dr. Steve Turley’s video (above) asserts that all the race rioting and Antifa thuggery our country has experienced this year is creating a “massive surge in support for the re-election of Donald Trump”; and furthermore, this has always happened in the past under similar conditions. He predicts that historically solid Democrat counties nationwide are going to turn to Trump.

It’s part, he says, of a “collapse of secular globalism as our ruling political paradigm.”

He makes a strong argument, and we pray it’s true. He also promotes his new book, President Trump and Our Post-Secular Future. I pray that that’s true, too: secular globalism needs to be collapsed.

Meanwhile, all of us who are not socialists and left-wing crazies need to make absolutely sure we vote, all of us, in all our numbers: and not only vote, but encourage friends, family members, and neighbors to rally for the defeat of the Democrats’ radical and racist agenda.

We do not want to be the next Venezuela.

So we’re in the hot-as-hades car this morning, en route to the supermarket, and listening to the canned nooze on the radio.

President Trump gave a speech this weekend in which he said America wasn’t going to stand for rioting, violence, and civil disorder. They played the clip. We heard him say it.

And then the noozie comes on and says the president came out against “peacefully protesting injustice.”

But that was not what he said! And it’s certainly not what’s going on in Democrat cities nationwide. “Peacefully protesting injustice”! Do they think we’re retarded? Do they think we don’t speak English? They show us the video of the rioting and then they call it “peaceful protest”! Honestly, that’s not even sane. We’re getting our news from crackpots.

It won’t be enough just to win this year’s elections.

Annihilate the Democrat Party. Put it and its horde of Far Left playmates out of business forever.

Paris Riots: 1968

After fighting the Wehrmacht, he wasn’t about to surrender to the rioters.

Remember the Paris riots of 1968? Far Left Crazy very nearly toppled the government of France.

But President Charles DeGaulle had been through worse than this. In 1940 he fought the panzer divisions invading his country. For the next five years he led the Free French. Those were dark days. Much darker than 1968.

DeGaulle refused to buckle. When all else failed, he put the military on high alert and managed to hold a special election. In that election, the sane and normal people in France gave his party an overwhelming victory. And the rioters faded back into the woodwork.

We need President Donald Trump to be as strong as DeGaulle. For a time in 1968, DeGaulle stood alone between France and anarchy. We need to rally around our president.

We can’t afford to lose this war. We’d lose our whole country, and I doubt we’d ever get it back.

An End to Social Media Censorship?

Censoring social media over hunting photos is utterly absurd ...

Many of you here on this blog, including me, have been censored by the social media, and it’s always been a one-way street: censorship for us, a free pass for Far Left Crazy.

But an end to that may be in sight.

President Donald Trump says he’s going to sign an executive order against the social media “selectively censoring news,” and defend free speech against “the unchecked power” of Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and the rest (https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/05/28/donald-trump-signs-exec-order-to-curb-big-techs-unchecked-power/).

Section 230 of the act which exempts the social media from being held liable for any damages incurred because of the content that they post, the Communications Decency Act, does not allow the social media to make “editorial decisions” regarding users’ content. But in recent years, the president said, the social media have disregarded that regulation and become, he said, “nothing more than a political activism group.”

Attorney General William Barr is preparing legislation to put an end to social media censorship.

It’s about time.

Somehow it’s only conservative opinion that ends up getting banned as “hate speech,” only conservative websites that wind up getting shut down or temporarily silenced. We all wanted an Internet that was free of censorship, but we haven’t got it. If the proposed regulations get signed into law, Big Tech will have only itself to thank.

The social media have evolved into a resource used by everyone, but everyone doesn’t get the same treatment. We are not generally in favor of inventing new regulations, but the situation with the social media has gotten out of hand. I shouldn’t have to use a picture of happy puppies every time I want to discuss something deemed controversial. If I don’t, Facebook censors me.

The former Sandinista who’s now the mayor of New York said, not long ago, that if he had his druthers, “Government would determine your day-to-day reality.”

Not on President Trump’s watch, sunshine.

In the 2016 election, some voters sat it out because Hillary Clinton was obviously a villain but Donald Trump was not [trumpet fanfare] The Righteous Candidate.

Meanwhile, we had, and still have, all sorts of Far Left Crazy moonbats claiming to be Christians.

Why Do Leftids Claim to be Christians?

President Trump turned out better than I dared to hope, and I can’t wait to vote for him again. But why do leftids say they’re Christians? Does anybody still believe them? Abortion, transgender, homosexuality, fomenting racial strife, in bed with atheism and Islam–how do they get away with it?

Just as Khrushchev once predicted, communism will bury us–if we don’t bury it first. And burying communism means burying the Democrat Party.

I don’t watch nooze. It’s bad enough, just reading it. But yesterday something piqued my curiosity and moved me to watch a few minutes of President Trump’s press briefing. Because I never watch these things, I had no idea what to expect (https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-hhs-inspector-general-is-biased-report-on-hospital-shortages-2020-4).

So I saw what I didn’t expect: some nonentity of a “reporter” trying to talk over the president of the United States. He just wouldn’t shut up.  Like, Dude, who the hell are you? What kind of feral fool just keeps yakking away while the president is speaking? Who do these journalistic nimrods think they are?

How do you interview anyone if you won’t stop talking yourself? Many years ago, I was at a governor’s briefing. Those of us who had questions asked them–and listened to the answers. That’s how we were able to report on what the governor said. We were, I think, a dozen reporters. We didn’t just keep talking.

But that was then, this is now, and our free and independent press’ only mission in life is to damage Donald Trump and try to boost Democrats back into power. They want to do this because they’re idiots: no one with any more sense than God gave an umbrella stand wants Democrats in charge of anything.

It’s not only lousy reporting, to try to drown out the person you’re supposed to be interviewing. It’s also bad manners. To show that much disrespect for the president is shameful.

I admit I had, and have, no respect at all for the previous president; I don’t even like to type his name. But I’m not all over the airwaves, live, showing my disrespect.

Let them write what they please. But if they can’t behave themselves in public, then they shouldn’t be allowed out in public.

 

Don’t ‘Reporters’ Understand Anything?

I never went to journalism school. I cannot confirm reports that before they let you graduate, they suck your brain out through a straw.

At President Trump’s press briefing yesterday (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QZmMWSVw_4), he mentioned that the United States had just acquired “good intelligence” that Iran was planning a sneak attack on some of our people in the region. The president warned Iran not to do it: “If anything bad happens, it’s going to be very painful for the other side.”

Okay, that’s a threat. Its purpose was to deter Iran from launching an attack. If the threat succeeds, then a lot of people won’t die.

Good luck trying to find a “journalist” who understands that.

So the reporter suggests to the president that maybe his statement was tantamount to giving the bad guys “a heads-up,” and asks him if he “feels” that maybe that’s what he did.

Do you really have to be a genius to understand that threats are meant to prevent actions from being taken? A sign on a park bench that says “Wet Paint” threatens unhappy consequences to anyone who sits on the bench. So you don’t sit on the bench. Is this truly beyond the intellectual powers of a journalist?

And they wonder why the public increasingly detests them.
